With the boom caused by the meteor that streaked across northern Utah still ringing in the ears of residents, people are getting their first look at the object that caused such an uproar.

The National Weather Service confirmed the detonation on the west edge of the Great Salt Lake with the Utah Test and Training Range, adding that it was not a meteorite that made the loud sound.

It may not be found soon -- or ever -- but the hidden treasure could be somewhere in Utah (or Nevada, it turns out), and it just recently arrived on the planet.
