During the total lunar eclipse, the moon will appear a striking red color as it aligns with the Earth and sun, also known as a "blood moon."

The next full moon, known as the Worm Moon, occurs Thursday, March 13, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac. A full moon will appear full for a couple of days before it moves into its next phase, according to NASA.
