DeMar DeRozan's first season with the Sacramento Kings was tumultuous. Mike Brown was fired as head coach, De'Aaron Fox was traded to the San Antonio Spurs and general manager Monte McNair and the franchise mutually agreed to part ways after the Kings lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the 9-10 play-in game.

DeRozan agreed to a three-year, $74 million deal as part of a three-team sign-and-trade this offseason that included the San Antonio Spurs landing Harrison Barnes and the Bulls acquiring Chris Duarte and a pair of second-round picks.
