Damian Lillard remains out indefinitely due to deep vein thrombosis in his right calf, but Milwaukee Bucks coach Doc Rivers told reporters Thursday that the team is more optimistic about him returning this season after a "great report the other day," via ESPN's Tim MacMahon and The Athletic's Eric Nehm.

At the time of the diagnosis, the Bucks organization was optimistic that Lillard could return before the playoffs, and that optimism appears to be growing. While good for the Bucks, it’s better news for Lillard and his family that he could be healthy enough to return to play.

There's "much more hope" that Milwaukee Bucks point guard Damian Lillard can return this season from deep vein thrombosis in his right calf, which has kept him out since March 18. Head coach Doc Rivers delivered that news to reporters Thursday before his team's road win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
