You should take a second look at shell scripting. Bash or ksh (not csh) syntax is close to basic.<BR>"if then else", "while do done", "=" to mean both set to and test equiv should all look familiar.
However, you can easily create a shell script that contains a file — even an archive of many files — and then retrieve the file and act on it at run time.
Learning to use write basic scripts with a language like Python or Bash can save you a lot of time on everything from organizing your files, editing text documents, and everything in between.
