The Masters begins Thursday at Augusta National, where defending champion Scottie Scheffler will try to win his third green jacket, Rory McIlroy will try once again to win his first, and the biggest names in golf will come together amid the Georgia pines for the year's first major championship.
The 2022 and 2024 Masters champion is a 4-1 favorite to win. Somehow, those are his best odds heading into Augusta National despite what has been — by his standards — a subpar season. Scheffler has yet to win on the PGA Tour and has just three Top-10 finishes, down from seven pre-Masters Top-10s last year.
