American travelers know that water bottles cannot be taken through airport security. However, there is a little-known TSA-approved hack to take a full bottle with you on a flight. The U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has a 3-1-1 rule that provides an unusual loophole for flyers to take their own water bottles through airport security.

New York's REAL ID law takes effect Wednesday. Travelers who don't have the correct form of identification will still be able to fly, but should be prepared for extra screening, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
