A Macomb County man initially forgot to scratch a section of his lottery ticket, but he decided to double-check it and discovered he won $4 million.

The man told lottery officials he almost tossed the winning ticket before he decided to double-check it at a gas station.

The man said he thought the ticket was a loser, but scanned it just to be sure he hadn't missed anything when scratching the ticket.
