Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Keli has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph (65 kph), the NHC said Tuesday morning. It was about 790 miles (1,270 kilometers) southeast of Honolulu and was moving west at about 15 mph (24 kph). No coastal watches or warnings were in effect for the storms.

Keli was a tropical storm in the North Pacific Ocean Tuesday afternoon Hawaii time, the National Hurricane Center said in its latest advisory. Keli was forecast to track well south of Hawaii and did not pose a threat to land. It was following a path similar to Hurricane Iona.
