Severe weather is likely today across Southeast Texas with thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds, hail and heavy rainfall.

A strong storm system will intensify, bringing a dryline and a cold front to North Texas. As this system interacts with the warm, moist air from the Gulf, thunderstorms will become more widespread. The storms could bring heavy rainfall, large hail, and strong winds, and a tornado threat.

As storms continue moving through the region, much of North Texas is under a flash flood warning, with up to 3 inches of rain forecast in some parts.

On Wednesday at 4:03 p.m. an updated flash flood warning was issued by the NWS Fort Worth TX in effect until 5:15 p.m. The warning is for Collin, Dallas and Tarrant counties.
