UnitedHealth Group on Thursday announced that a longtime employee in the company has been named the new leader of its health insurance arm, nearly two months after the killing of former CEO Brian Thompson.

UnitedHealthcare has appointed Tim Noel as its new CEO following the December targeted killing of former executive Brian Thompson in Manhattan. Noel is a company veteran who joined in 2007. Thompson’s murder has intensified scrutiny of the health-care industry and prompted calls for reform.
