Southern Miss starting shortstop Ozzie Pratt did not play against Miami due to concussion protocol after he was hit in the face by a pitch in the 8-1 win over Columbia earlier in the day.

The Golden Eagles had runners on the corners with one out in the top of the sixth inning of a 1-1 tie when leadoff man Jake Cook sent a screaming grounder Vogler’s way. Vogler made the stop, then looked toward Drey Barrett, the Golden Eagles baserunner who was inching down the third base line.
