President Donald Trump would plainly like America to be more like the Gulf states he’s touring on the first big foreign trip of his new term.

It’s no surprise Elon Musk is joining Trump on his Arabian jaunt. His businesses have been lapping up gulf money for years.

The announcement comes during U.S. President Donald Trump’s four-day tour of the Gulf, which has featured elaborate ceremonies and a wave of business agreements, including Saudi Arabia’s $600 billion investment pledge in the United States and $142 billion in arms deals.

The meeting, on the sidelines of Trump sitting with the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council, marks a major turn of events for a Syria still adjusting to life after the over 50-year, iron-gripped rule of the Assad family.
