Smart eyewear company Xreal is partnering with Google to produce augmented reality glasses that it is calling Project Aura, a new product built using Android XR technology. The AI-powered glasses will use optical see-through technology to enhance the consumer AR experience and will include a widened 70-degree field of view.

Project Aura is made to be tethered, not standalone, and is much more compact than recent glasses from Samsung and Apple.

XREAL today announced a strategic partnership with Google to expand the ecosystem of spatial computing devices built on Android XR. As part of this collaboration, XREAL unveiled Project Aura at the Google I/O developer conference — XREAL's next-generation extended reality (XR) device designed specifically for the Android XR platform.
