The U.S. Open has turned into a sprint through the soggy fairways of Oakmont following a downpour that caused a delay of 1 hour, 37 minutes.

The suspension of play came at 4:01 p.m. ET. Play will resume at 5:40 ET. Oakmont was soaked in the weeks prior to the U.S. Open, then largely dried out until a deluge dropped more than an inch of rain on the course on Friday evening.

The U.S. Open final round was halted at 4:05 p.m. after torrential rain soaked Oakmont, leaving standing water on the greens and in fairways.

The winner of the 2025 U.S. Open will take home a hefty paycheck of $4.3 million, the same amount as last year's winner Bryson DeChambeau.

The final round of the 125th U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club has been suspended due to heavy rains that moved through the area Sunday afternoon. Play was suspended just after 4 p.m. Sunday as torrential downpours made the course unplayable.
