The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday its count of confirmed measles cases in the U.S. has already surpassed 2024.

The Oakland County Health Department announced at a news conference Friday afternoon that they have confirmed a case of measles in an adult in that county.

So far there have been three outbreaks in the United States and 301 previously confirmed cases, reports the Center for Disease Control.

An Oakland County adult is the first measles patient in Michigan since July 2024. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and Oakland County Health Division confirmed the case at a press conference Friday afternoon, March 14.
