Friday is another First Alert Weather Day as rounds of heavy rain move through the New York City area, which could cause flooding. It comes after storms pounded the Tri-State Area on Thursday and made for a messy evening commute.

STATEN ISLAND, NY. — Rain brings the threat of flooding for the morning and evening rush hours on Friday on Staten Island and throughout New York City. Storm showers are expected to be heavy in the region and a National Weather Service flood watch is in effect north of New York City and on Long Island.

More showers and heavy rains are expected to besiege the tri-state area starting Thursday afternoon, potentially making a mess of another evening commute but clearing out in time for a gorgeous Mother’s Day.
