Officers on a welfare check for a family discovered a grisly scene inside a Murray Hill home: A man and two women were all shot to death.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was called to the home on Gilmore Street where a man and two women lived to conduct a welfare check. When JSO arrived, the three people were found shot to death with one person suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. JSO believed it was a murder-suicide.

Detectives say JSO officers found three bodies inside a home on Gilmore St. in the Murray Hill area Thursday during a wellness check.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent double murder and suicide in Murray Hill. JSO Sgt. Ray Reeves said police were dispatched to a home in the 4000 block of Gilmore Street to conduct a welfare check after being contacted by family members from out of town.
