TORONTO — Star rookie Kristian Campbell has been scratched from the Red Sox lineup Thursday against the Blue Jays because of right rib discomfort. The 22-year-old was supposed to play center field and bat seventh. Jarren Duran has been moved from left field to center field. Rob Refsnyder, who was not in the initial lineup, will play left field.

The Boston Red Sox issued a harsh update on their rookie phenom just before their rubber match against a division rival.

While it's too early to speculate the seriousness of the issue, Kristian Campbell was taken out of Thursday's lineup with rib discomfort.
