Dow Jones Today: Stock Futures Edge Lower

Stock futures were little changed on Tuesday evening, as investors await earnings releases from several big banks and the latest wholesale inflation report. Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average pulled back 76 points, or 0.1%, while S&P 500 futures lost 0.2%. Nasdaq 100 futures slipped 0.2%.
U.S. stock futures were mostly higher Tuesday after Nvidia set it's likely to resume sales of key chips to China, with a key inflation report and bank earnings on the way. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures fell 71 points,
With recent announcements of 30% tariffs on the EU, Mexico and Canada, as well as 25% tariffs on Japan and South Korea, all scheduled to begin August 1, economists expect June's higher inflation figures to continue gaining steam in subsequent months.
S&P 500 futures were higher Tuesday, boosted by gains in Nvidia, as traders pored through the latest U.S. inflation data. Futures tied to the S&P 500 rose 0.3%, while Nasdaq 100 futures added 0.6%. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures shed 83 points, or 0.2%.
Oil futures slipped 0.7% to $66.52 a barrel in New York. Natural gas futures bounced back above the $3.50 per million British thermal units level, as traders continued to with help from midday data showing a slightly warmer temperature outlook.
