After firing coach Dan Bylsma, the Seattle Kraken have promoted longtime general manager Ron Francis to president of hockey operations, with assistant Jason Botterill taking over day-to-day responsibilities.

Seattle finished the 2024-25 season with a 35-41-6 record, earning 76 points and missing the playoffs by a 20-point margin. It was a significant drop-off from the 100-point 2023 campaign in which the team reached the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
