Borderlands 4’s release date has been pushed up to Sept. 12 from the previously announced date of Sept. 23. One theory says it’s because of Grand Theft Auto 6 — specifically, to give more gamers more time to potentially play Borderlands 4 before they get sucked into GTA 6.

The ground has just shifted for anyone trying to figure out the exact release date for Grand Theft Auto 6 as 2K has altered plans for another game in its stable, Borderlands 4. The latest entry in Gearbox's series will arrive 11 days earlier than previously announced as it will debut on September 12.

The release date for Borderlands 4 has been moved up by two weeks, shifting from September 23rd to September 12th. This is according to a video posted by Randy Pitchford, CEO of Borderlands developer Gearbox Interactive, that was ironically deleted and reposted because it went up too early.
