We didn't take a tour but walked around on our own. The LDS church has ambassadors everywhere and they only too glad to help if you need help. One thing to consider when making plans; everything around Temple Square in closed on Sunday, even the City Creek Mall is closed. That's a good day to go to Park City.

You can park at a TRAX light rail train lot nearby and take the TRAX. It is a nice train. If you take it within about 6 blocks of Temple Square it is free. I have often parked farther out and taken the TRAX in because then I do not have to deal with city traffic. If you are staying at a hotel you may also be able to catch the TRAX from your hotel.
