We made the decision to walk up to the Castelo which won't be for everyone as it is relatively intense. It costs €15 for adults to get in and offers excellent views of the city.Full review by ldgp14

We took a Tuk Tuk to the castle; it was $10 one way and got us close to the castle entrance. The Tuk Tuk can also give you a tour of Alfama ending at the castle Lisboa is awesome!

yes we did buy tickets at the Castle . Absolutely NO LINE. We went in mid July. A bit warm but not a problem. We did not wait for sunset. Excellent view of the city.
