Parking is easy and free. Great location with restaurants nearby. Nice beach with shells and good sand. Downside is the restrooms are terrible and sometimes to the point of unusable.Full review by Mark I

Because it's near where several large rivers flow into the ocean, the water isn't very clear. The beaches are sandy, and the sand goes out a long way, so there's no real issue with rocks. I …

Because it's near where several large rivers flow into the ocean, the water isn't very clear. The beaches are sandy, and the sand goes out a long way, so there's no real issue with rocks. I wore water shoes, but more because of marine life on the bottom, and the possibility of glass or lost fishing tackle in the water. It's really a nice beach.

Would I be able to get a wheelchair around in park?
A:
Yes, it has a cement walkway through park, plus wooden platform walkways along beach and of course .... restroom facilities. Plenty of benches.

Can you metal detect on the beach?
A:
Not anymore. Not sure why? Use to up until all the hurricanes. Not on any part of Amelia Island.
