Fort Nelson is home to the Royal Armouries national collection of artillery and is a great day out for all the family. Step back in time and explore a fully restored Victorian fort with its high ramparts, original fortifications, huge parade ground and underground tunnels. Plus, there's the national museum housing over 700 pieces of artillery from across the world and spanning 600 years of history. With an exciting collection of big guns, stunning panoramic views, great children’s activities, a museum shop packed with gifts and souvenirs and a café serving delicious refreshments – there's something for everyone to enjoy. Venue Hire is also offered for weddings, parties, corporate hire and other events. Admission free. Parking £3.

Excellent visit - staff are friendly & knowledgeable. Children 4,9, & 12 learnt lots & really enjoyed the Fort. Would recommend and definitely visit again in the near futureFull review by Susan W

Hello I am an Class of 82 lad and want to visit the standing with giants, that's all I want to see, will I be allowed to bring my small dog in ? I have her to calm me down? I've already booked for Wednesday morning but if she's not allowed to accompany me I shall not be visiting, I don't have want to see anything else just the standing with giants!

Yes, you pay £3 to use the car park - even if you just want to sit in your car and admire the view.

Can you see the poppies from the car park, as my friend has very poor mobility & high anxiety levels in public places.

No not from my experience, they have disabled parking and disabled access though, we took my mum’s nan in her wheelchair.
