Stunning views, interesting history very well presented in displays, videos and of course the huge war mechanisms! Lots of steps, climbs and towers to overcome but well worth it.Full review by neilcoyb2018

This is a great place to visit all-round, but in particular the English language tour was a cracker. Ours was with a young guy called Adrian. It was easily up to Horrible Histories standard. He shoul…Full review by DapsterUK

While this place for me was less than amazing, I will say the views from the castle of the surrounding countryside is breath-taking. I have seen so many European medieval historic sites with all its …Full review by Jim W
How difficult is the attraction for someone with limited mobility? My traveling companion uses a cane or a walker and has difficulty with stairs, especially those without railings that are uneven. Will she be able to enjoy a visit?

Hi, there is a suggested route to follow throughout the chateau which does involve quite a few steps, some of them steep and a bit tricky. On the way out I did see a sign that was pointing to an alternative route for those with mobility issues. I didn't take this route so I can't comment on it. It would be a real shame for your friend to miss out on such a splendid castle just because she can't access all areas. If I was in her position I would want to go even if all I could do was walk around the medieval houses at the base of the castle and enjoy the wonderful views. I say give it a go, good luck!
We are intending on visiting the Chateau in September this year. Do the demonstrations only happen in July Aug or do they continue all year round? Thanks so much

Hi. Check the website from the Castle itself. It has a diary of events, which only mentions animations until June. When we went there mid september 2014, there were none. It looks like the demonstrations are commensurate with attendance, and at this period of the year, it's fairly quiet. (All the kids go back to school in september, in France.) All the more time - and room - to enjoy peacefully the old stones and the quiet of the countryside! Enjoy! Rom
