You could have a brief rest on the low wall of the Dell Avenue bridge. It is about the height of a bench. Also, further south on Dell, towards Venice Bl, pop into the park next to the ducks' area! Those are the options. When you get to the pier on the beach, there are loads of benches!

No they do not close. It is a residential area. Canal bridges are decorated around Xmas holidays time. It is beautiful.
