This pier is extra long and welcoming everyone without a fee. You can admire the views of the Gulf of Mexico and Venice Beach .Full review by Sunshine57700976845

Pier is well maintained, a nice walk out to end and back. There are two restaurants that were quite crowded when we were at the pier. Menus looked like a lot of variety and lots of seafood dishes. …Full review by Grammy2014

What do you catch from pier What type of bait/ lures work best ?

We used shrimp n squid, with a heavy weighted sinker w 2 hooks, varies on what u catch, there are sharks at this pier, so be in the watch for that.

You are able to rent gear on the pier but depending on how much fishing/how many days/people you may want to bring your own. I also felt like bait prices were a bit high.

Is it ok to walk dogs on the pier?

I did see dogs on the pier & didn't see any signs excluding them so my guess is it's ok as long as you are considerate to the rest of the public ( cleanup, leash, etc)

there are no charters from the pier but Clearwater and johns pass have plenty of them . good luck and enjoy your trip
