Even in autumn, the flowers and shrubs were still blooming and showy. We went twice and saw different things each time. Make sure you watch the red squirrels at feeding time.Full review by RothburyLady

if my cruise ship. Windstar WindSurf, arrives at 8:30 and departs at 2pm......enough time to go to gardens and Valhalla? still need to eat lunch. where does the ship dock?
Is it possible to see the squirrels without having to visit the gardens? That is, do they live anywhere outside the pay-zone? I'm visiting Scilly next year for the first time, not a plant freak but like wildlife. Just come back from a hotel in the Lake District where they visit the garden for free!

Hi Oldpigsqueal, The red squirrels tend to stay around the garden but you do sometimes see them near the garden entrance and around the Garden Cafe... Even if you're not a plant fan, the Garden is still well worth a visit, if only for the stunning views and feeling of being somewhere a million miles away from the UK whilst just off the Cornish coast!
