Loved this old castle but be aware to wear shoes suitable for climbing steep stone stairs. Plus take antibacterial wipes as the pigeon’s poop on the hand rails. The views from the top are amazing.Full review by Ellissa B

Hi, There are most definitely joist holes still visible today.

If you are physically impaired it’s not a good one as there are no lifts tho there are benches at each level did you can do it in stages. The steps are rough and narrow tho there are hand rails. I didn’t count the actual number of steps but there view from the battlements is worth it if you can manage it.
