A great place to access the trail is at Krider Garden in Middlebury. There's parking and it's s beautiful place to start. You can head east to Shipshewana or southwest to Goshen. There are a few restaurants in downtown Middlebury (West on Warren, Legendary Grind, The Village Inn, DQ) or several in downtown Goshen or Shipshewana but nothing in between the three towns. It's rural and there is shaded area between the three towns.
