Excellent answers from Alex and Cyrus (above). An alternative: We walked from to the village and down to a nearby beach and then to the beach at Carveiro, using roads, paths and some sidewalks. Be cautious of vehicle traffic. A very scenic walk! During the Summer and Fall, we enjoyed free, outdoor music and dancing, every night, at the plaza, with stage, in front of Carveiro beach....a wonderful surprise! Local cabs can take you back to the village. Carveiro was one of our absolute favorite towns during our 60+ day "immersion" into the fabulous, friendly, sunny Algarve region!
