In the beginning of the ride there is a slight drop, that’s purpose is not to get you wet or scare you. The reason for the drop is to take you under the railroad tracks above and into a large building that contains the majority of the ride. Don’t worry and enjoy.

Once you board the boat, it's 11 minutes. I timed myself once from boarding to getting off at end of the ride. However, as with all rides, the time spent in line can vary due to what day you visit the park, what time of day you go to the ride, how busy the park is, etc. Best is to check the board on Main Street when you arrive, then you can look at estimated wait times for popular attractions, then decide if you want to stand in line, go later in the day or Fastpass the line.
