This park seems to have a good side and a bad side. The north side near the beach was a little sketchy so I was afraid to go in, but later when I walked along the south side, it didn’t seem so bad. …Full review by jehenson81

A:
Yes. Actually this is the largest, at about 27 acres, and I do believe the only, on the islet of San Juan.

Sorry to say, but no; there are no grill on the area. However, there are food trucks near the beach across the bridge. Across the street there is a fast food rest. ( I think it is a KFC, not sure.). Another area is Isla Verde Beach ( Carolina Beach), they do have gazebos areas that you can rent for a day, and bring your own BBQ, chairs, etc, etc. Another fantastic place, for a large group like yours, is Parque Nacional Isla de Cabras ( Goats Island ) the place is safe, ( they have a page in FB). Not really far from the Metro Area ( not more than 1/2 hr). There are gazebos, and larger lunching areas, they rent for a day ( starting a $ 25.00 up ) . There is a fast food local rest in the area. The view from the Old San Juan is FANTASTIC!!!! A place I love for this kind of group activities with children, besides Luis Munoz Rivera Park, is Parque Luis Munoz Marin, right in SJ metro area ( 787-763-0568) . All these places have paying parking lots. You can go to DRN page , or Parques Nacionales de Puerto Rico, or call (787) 788-0440. They are open from Wed. until Sundays, and holidays. ( On Sundays. all beach areas, get very crowded). Hope this inf. is helful. Enjoy your day!
