My 16-year-old son and I are both PADI Advanced Open Water (AOW) divers, and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to dive with Keith (our excellent dive master) at Blue Grotto and Devil’s Den!…Full review by forbachc

Party of eight. Rented two boats for scalloping and was rained out so ended up going back to dock without getting to the scallop fields on first date. Short lived misunderstanding on rebooking, but…Full review by upstate2

We are family of 4 from Philippines, all certified experienced PADI divers (1 is a divemaster). Do you offer scuba diving with Manatees and other sites within your area? We plan to stay for 3 days. Thanks

Hi. We are in Crystal River tomorrow. Does it make sense to book a tour in August. Is there a chance to see Manatees?

Hi Dai, while we don't have hundreds of manatees in Kings Bay in August, we do have a resident population of 50-100, so we do see them every day. This summer we are mostly seeing cow/calf pairs, but are also frequently seeing groups of 4-6. The manatees travel freely throughout the 600 acre bay, so water clarity will vary from tour to tour, but all of our guests tell us they are having a great time. If you want to see manatees, I would give an enthusiastic yes to booking a tour. If you have any questions feel free to give us a call at the shop and we will be happy to help. Sandi
Hello, I have a question about the Manatee Tour equipment. We're wondering if your scuba masks are available with prescription lenses, or if customers can rent masks with prescription lenses from you. If not, can we bring our own equipment &/or do you recommend anywhere as a rental source? My husband has a -5.0 prescription and unfortunately can't do contacts. Thank you - we appreciate your company's responsible approach to wildlife!

We are planning a trip March 20th. Will this be too late to swim with the Manatee?

Hi, There is no exact answer to your question as we do run tours all year, but the number of manatees that you can expect you to see on your tour will depend on the weather. There are manatees that live in Crystal River/Kings Bay all year, however, the large population that cluster in the springs that many people expect/want to see are only here when the weather is cold. It is impossible to say at this point in time how many manatees will be in the area at the end of March. If the area has a very warm spell of weather after a period of cold weather (which does often happen in March)- then we will see few manatees (perhaps only one or two). If it is still cold, then we may have hundreds of manatees in Kings Bay. I would suggest either calling or sending an e-mail a few weeks before you come and the staff at the shop will be able to give you a much more accurate answer to your question. Just for general information- If we have only the normal population of approximately 50 manatees in the area, then you can expect to see the manatees either solo or in cow/calf pairs, and they will be spread out over the bay. We normally see manatees on every tour- but it may only one or two if the weather is warm. I apologize that this does not answer your question fully, but hope it helps you plan.
Hi, I'd love to do a tour, but I'm a big girl and worry that the wetsuit won't fit me. Do you carry plus size wetsuits? I weigh 207. Thank you in advance for your reply!
A:
No problem. My wife is about that size and she had no problem finding a wetsuit that fit. And had a great time too!
