Closed for Lisboa card users due to the strike, only tickets purchased before the strike are allowed in. Can’t by tickets on line either. At least I enjoyed the long walk uphill, NOT!Full review by Marius F

Taxi to the castle - how close would I get/what street would I ask for?

We took a Tuk Tuk to the castle; it was $10 one way and got us close to the castle entrance. The Tuk Tuk can also give you a tour of Alfama ending at the castle Lisboa is awesome!

yes we did buy tickets at the Castle . Absolutely NO LINE. We went in mid July. A bit warm but not a problem. We did not wait for sunset. Excellent view of the city.
