Bishop's Castle is a very unique building, unlike anything I'd seen before. It truly is impressive, and beautiful what's been built here. We had fun climbing up to the various towers and around the c…Full review by TheSnuz

A great place for a little adventure in CO. It is a cool place to explore and hand out for an afternoon. Different seasons allow for different experiences too as the ambiance is outstanding and see…Full review by Nathan J

Yes this isn't a good place for the typical disney-park person. It is truly unique and authentic. Yes, it is mildly dangerous and there are goats running around. One goat head butted me because I sto…Full review by JaredDenver

Is this worth a stop (on our drive from Colorado Springs, CO to Great Sands Dunes National Park) if we don't plan on climbing? My kids are little (ages 1, 3, 5, and 7) but well traveled so I don't plan on doing any climbing. If there are still rooms from ground level and things they can see without climbing, I wouldn't mind stopping. Thanks.

I would plan to stop for 30 minutes or so just to get out and stretch. Keep the kids in sight at all times as it really isn't a place for them to go wandering because it is still under construction... I think they would enjoy looking at the outside properties of the building. I wouldn't go too far out of my way to see it. However... My nephew, age 6, says it is his favorite place. It seems to call to his imagination... It is on a beautiful drive. Make sure your vehicle is fueled as this is in a remote location.
Q:
Who built this and when?
A:
Jim Bishop many decades ago
Q:
Will you be open Sunday April 1st (Easter) 2018? Also, is there a charge for admission?
A:
there is no admission charge however there signs requesting donations. I think they are open 365 days.
Q:
Hi. I'll be staying in Denver, with no car. Is there some type of transportation from Denver to the Castle?
A:
Sorry but no. A rental car would be the best way.
Q:
Are well behaved dog welcome?
A:
I would think so but can't say for sure. Entry isn't controlled - no entry fee or anyone there at all, as far as I could see. Entry is at ones own risk and it's a work in progress.
