What an amazing view! I've been to Hiawassee many times but never knew about Bell Mountain. I'm so glad i found it and can't wait to visit again.Full review by gatorgirl2015

This is not an easy drive to the parking lot. It’s very narrow in multiple locations but it is worth the trip to see the views.Full review by Adventurer696856

The view from the top was amazing and 100% worth the steep climb! The drive up is also very steep and interesting! We even saw a mountain goat at the top. Highly recommend!Full review by kristensteidle
We are planning on driving to Bell Mountain on Thursday, 11/5/20. How are the fall colors this year?
A:
The fall colors were brilliant mid to late October. Hurricane Zeta may have washed a good bit of the color away but hopefully there is still a nice yellow, orange and red hue for you to enjoy.
Is it possible to kind of hike the way up to the mountain? My car is not an suv and kind of old im afraid to drive up....
A:
Sure you can walk up, but it is a long walk straight up! And you would need to watch for cars coming in and out. I have walked up before it was open to the public, it's a tough climb.
So apparently its steep. Is it paved or gravel? We were thinking of going on our motorcycles but now I'm not so sure. Thoughts?
A:
Paved road all the way to the top with paved parking area. A bit of a windy narrow road up, use caution. Some folks drive it too fast for my taste. Enjoy.

High Shoals Falls is an excellent, relatively easy 3 mi. hike to three gorgeous waterfalls. You simply go from Route 76 down toward Helen, and keep an eye out on the left for the entrance. You will have to drive through a shallow stream in most seasons to get there but well worth it. Also nice trails around the lake. Jackrabbit Trail emile. More info at Hiawassee Visitors Center.
